Appellation: Chianti Classico DOCG
Varietal: 95% Sangiovese, 5% Merlot
Winemaking: Vines planted at spurred cordon 300 feet above sea level in 1999 and 2005. The soil is composed of marly chalk and sand with presence of clay. 3700-5000 plants x hectare. Yeld: 65 hl x hectare. Hand harvested. 20 days skin maceration in stainless steel and cement vats where the malolactic fermentation also takes place. 50% of the wine is matured for 12 months in cement vats while 50% of the wine matures in second-passage barriques. The wine is then blended and bottled at the end of May and released 2 years after harvest.
