This is the new project of Leo Felici of the Andrea Felici winery, and Andrea Cavallaro whose family home and farm are in Rosora where the highest Verdicchio vineyards of the Castello di Jesi appellation are to be found, Some of the 10 hectares of vines were planted at 400/500 meters above sea level in the 1980’s and the rest in the early 2000’s, trained in the double guyot system. The soil is a mixture of clay and limestone. The elevation and the distance from the sea are quite relevant in that they impart freshness and sapidity to the wines. The grapes are fermented with native yeasts in concrete vats where the wine matures for 6 months on the fine lees.
The winery follows organic practices; biodiversity is a key element in their farm where sheep are left to roam free and graze amidst the vines. The name of the wine is a homage to Moro della Genga, the nobleman who ruled Rosora centuries ago.
2022 was their first release, 20,000 bottles.
