Giuliano and Francesca Pettinella decided to give up their respective careers as lawyers to dedicate themselves to wine making. Giuliano’s family had a small vineyard trained at spurred cordon overlooking the Adriatic sea, they later purchased a plot of 40 years old alberello vines inland, in the cool foothills of the Maiella massif. Only Montepulciano grapes are grown, following the traditional farming methods of their forefathers.
In 2010 the first Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo “Tauma” was released. Tauma is the Arabic word for twins, to celebrate the birth of their twin daughters that same year, and to acknowledge that this wine was produced from 2 separate vineyards of identical dimensions, down to the single vine count.
In 2019 the first Montepulciano d’Abruzzo was released.
Pettinella is certified organic since 2018, their entire production is 5,000 bottles.
