While working several years in different wineries in the Maremma, the coastal, hilly district in southern Tuscany, Antonio Camillo acquired a deep knowledge of its terroir and the ideal vineyard locations for the native grapes: Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo and Procanico.
In 2006 Antonio started renting a few, ideally located, small vineyards 40 to 50 years of age and embarked on his solo adventure. Eventually he purchased his own 6 hectares. The entire 20 hectares of land are farmed organically. In the cellar the style is minimalist, using native yeasts for fermentation and aging mostly done in concrete vats. The ultimate aim is to express his native land in the most true and genuine manner possible.
