Robert Parker Wine Advocate (Antonia Galloni)

2008 Pacherhof - Gewurztraminer   91 pts   The 2008 Gewurztraminer is round, generous and enveloping in its layers of perfumed, exotic fruit. The wine possesses tons of detail and clarity, with exceptional length and polish. This is a wonderful effort form Pacherhof.

2008 Pacherhof - Gruner Veltliner   91 pts   The 2008 Gruner Veltliner is another superb white. This is one of the more complete wines in the line up as it offers both gorgeous aromatics but is backed up with terrific depth and richness in its fruit. Passion fruit, lime, flowers and spices all come together in this superb, complex and subtle Gruner.

2008 Pacherhof - Kerner  88 pts   The 2008 Kerner offers up attractive perfumed varietal fruit on a medium-bodied frame. Though delicious, the Kerner is one of the simpler wines in this lineup.

2008 Pacherhof - Muller Thurgau   90 pts  The 2008 Muller Thurgau is a gorgeous, crystalline white endowed with notable beauty and finesse. Everything is beautifully articulated in this crisp, chiseled wine. White peaches, flowers and minerals linger on the finish.

2008 Pacherhof - Riesling   88 pts   The 2008 Riesling is a round, generous wine with plenty of definition in its soft, lightly honeyed fruit. What comes through most, though, is the personality of this terrain rather than varietal aromas or flavors. This is a distinctly Alto Adige wine, especially in its minerality.

2008 Pacherhof Sylvaner   90 pts   The 2008 Sylvaner is quite pretty in its honeyed cantaloupe, peaches and flowers, showing terrific volume and dimension in a generous style. The finish is long, pure and refined. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2011.

2007 Pacherhof Kerner     89pts   The 2007 Kerner is the most complete of these offerings. It combines the minerality that is such a prominent feature of whites from Alto Adige with an additional dimension of sweetness and fullness on the palate.
Anticipated maturity: 2008-2010.

2007 Pacherhof Muller Thurgau     88 pts   Pacherhof’s 2007 Muller Thurgau is clean, steely white with pretty aromatics and lovely clarity in its mineral-infused white peaches and flowers. This focused wine is best enjoyed over the next year or so.
Anticipated maturity: 2008-2010.

2007 Pacherhof Sylvaner     87 pts   The 2007 Sylvaner is a tightly-wound, piercing wine that emphasizes notes of smokiness and minerality over fruit. I don’t expect bottle age to make much of a difference here, as this wine is likely to always remain somewhat austere.
Anticipated maturity: 2008-2010.

I Vini d’Italia – Le Guide dell’Espresso 2009
The recent wave of critical consent and success does not seem to have influenced the quality standards of Andreas Huber: his wines once again prove to possess a well definite flavor profile, great balance and vibrant acidity.

Vini d’Italia – Gambero Rosso 2009
Andreas huber is surely amongst the most promising young producers of Italy. His wines are very “northern”, delicate and vigorous at once and need time to develop their broad range of nuances…but with plenty character.
